Isolation and Identification of Zooplankton in a Tropical Stream in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria

An investigation of zooplankton in a tropical stream Akwa Ibom State was carried out at three different stations between April and June, 2019. From the study it is revealed that species were wide spread abundant all studied with station 3 recording highest total abundance 124 ind. / l. Eight identified during which include; Arcella sp, Askenasia faurei Difflugia acuminate for protozoa while Brachionus sp., Lindia torulose, Rotaria Trichotria pocillum, Polyyarthra belong to phylum Rotifera. Rotoria sp present high numerical period low recorded attributed variation physicochemical parameters area duration period. However, physico-chemical within standard recommended by WHO portable water exception Turbidity slightly higher 5 NTU. Conclusively, this will provide baseline information as regards community quality Uruk-Uso Stream.
